First and foremost, I was taught to let go of my dream and will to leave it in God’s hands. I learned His dream and will to pray back to Him so I focus on Him and not me. In II Peter 3:9 Peter tells us, “The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” (Amplified Bible). This sets my heart up to be ministered to by God and Holy Spirit as I seek His will for the day to minister to other people.
Importantly, I want to pray myself into a position as close to the Proverbs 31 Women as I am able to in human form, especially verses 25-26 and 30, “Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; she rejoices over the future [the latter day or time to come, knowing that she and her family are in readiness for it]!
She opens her mouth in skillful and godly Wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness [giving counsel and instruction]. Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain [because it is not lasting], but a woman who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praised!” When I align my heart with God’s and search His Word for the goodness He wants for me and my family, He is faithful!
Wife
As a wife, I am careful to look at Scripture wholly and not segmented for manipulation. Colossians 3:18 gives me instruction: “Wives, be subject to your husbands [out of respect for their position as protector, and their accountability to God], as is proper and fitting in the Lord.” (Amplified Bible). Ephesians 5:21 gives further instruction (as we are made equals in the sight of God): “Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ [the Messiah, the Anointed One].” (Amplified Bible, Classic). As much as I am to submit and adapt to my husband, he is given the same instruction so we continue to have teachable spirits.
Mother
As a momma, I want to be the example and follow what Scripture tells us to do so my children know what the expectation is from our Heavenly Father. Proverbs 22:6 tells us “Train up a child in the way he should go [and in keeping with his individual gift or bent], and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Amplified Bible, Classic) and Deuteronomy 6: 5-9 instructs us in this way: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and with all your soul and with all your strength [your entire being]. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be [written] on your heart and mind. You shall teach them diligently to your children [impressing Godās precepts on their minds and penetrating their hearts with His truths] and shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up. And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand (forearm), and they shall be used as bands (frontals, frontlets) on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (Amplified Bible).
Also, I want to pray they learn their role as a child, in the home and within the Kingdom of Heaven. Colossians 3:20 says, “Children, obey your parents [as Godās representatives] in all things, for this [attitude of respect and obedience] is well-pleasing to the Lord [and will bring you Godās promised blessings].” (Amplified Bible) and Deuteronomy 5:16 advises, “Honor (respect, obey, care for) your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that your days [on the earth] may be prolonged and so that it may go well with you in the land which the Lord your God gives you.” (Amplified Bible).

Mentor
I have asked the Lord to show me what I need to pursue as a ministry. The first step is being a mentor to other women/young women coming up behind me. The following verses have been revealed to me as a foundation for this vision:
Titus 2:1, 3-5 (Amplified Bible)
But as for you, teach the things which are in agreement with sound doctrine [which produces men and women of good character whose lifestyle identifies them as true Christians].
Older women similarly are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor addicted to much wine, teaching what is right and good, so that they may encourage the young women to tenderly love their husbands and their children, to be sensible, pure, makers of a home [where God is honored], good-natured, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.
1 John 2:27 (Amplified Bible)
As for you, the anointing [the special gift, the preparation] which you received from Him remains [permanently] in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you. But just as His anointing teaches you [giving you insight through the presence of the Holy Spirit] about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as His anointing has taught you, you must remain in Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him].
For Me
The following list contains my go to verses in general, including my life verse, my ministry verse, and my verse of the year for my family:
- Psalm 27:13-14 “I would have despairedĀ had I not believed that I would see the goodness of theĀ Lord in the land of the living. Wait forĀ andĀ confidently expect theĀ Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait forĀ andĀ confidently expect theĀ Lord. (Life Verse)
- James 1:2-4 “Consider it nothing but joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you fall into various trials. Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace]. And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing. (Ministry Verse)
- Jeremiah 29:11-14 “For I know the plansĀ andĀ thoughts that I have for you,ā says theĀ Lord, āplans for peaceĀ andĀ well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice]Ā andĀ I will listen to you.Ā Then [with a deep longing] you will seek MeĀ andĀ require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.Ā I will be found by you,ā says theĀ Lord, āand I will restore your fortunes and I will [free you and] gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,ā says theĀ Lord, āand I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.ā” (Verse of 2020)
- Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him.”
- Psalm 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable and pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my [firm, immovable] rock and my Redeemer.”
- Isaiah 50:5 “The Lord God has opened My ear, and I have not been rebellious nor have I turned back.”
- I Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].”
- I Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”
- Luke 22:42 “Saying, Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but [always] Yours be done.”
- James 1:5 “If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.”
- Mark 11:22-24 “And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly]. Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].”
